World Refugee Day, observed June 20 each year, is dedicated to raising awareness of the situation of refugees throughout the world.
There were lots of interesting links shared on Twitter in the past day, and we've put together a list of some of our favorites:
Make sure to check out the posters. What do you think of the images and the words that they've used for their campaign?
There's even a game you can download to your iPhone or Android phone called ‘MY LIFE AS A REFUGEE’ which forces players to face the same life-changing decisions refugees make. What do you think of this idea?
This slideshow, from the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, details the extent of forced displacement across borders. More people have become refugees in 2011 than at any other time since 2000.
Videos from Citizenship & Immigration Canada that highlight information and feature the stories of refugees.
Check out our Pinterest board on Immigrants and Refugees for some really interesting infographics, including one made especially for this year's World Refugee Day.
